Here are some tricks to use FaceTime for Mac for a better experience: Type their name, phone number, or email address and click ‘Add’ at the bottom of the screen. A list of participants will appear on the left side and at the bottom find a plus (+) icon to add another caller.
If you want to add one more participant on the Group during an active call, click on the lower-left corner of the window to show the sidebar.
